Description:
Rat Insulin-like Growth Factor Binding Protein-5 (rIGFBP-5) is a 252 amino acid protein that is one of the six “classical” IGF binding proteins that play an important role in stabilizing and regulating the activity of IGFs in vivo. Rat IGFBP-5 preferentially binds IGF-II and it also binds with high affinity to extracellular matrix components which protect it from proteolysis. Like human IGFBP-5, rat IGFBP-5 has a nuclear targeting sequence.
